In October, the first-ever Hazlehurst Urban Sketching meet-up took place. You can check out our experiences by visiting our blog post titled "October Urban Sketching."
Moving on to our November gathering, it happened on Friday the 3rd of November, and we met at All Saints Church, which generously provided us with space. This charming church is nestled in the heart of Runcorn Town Centre's Old Town, just a short walk away from Hazlehurst Studios. We wanted to ensure a safe, accessible, and weather-resistant environment for our sessions, and All Saints turned out to be the perfect choice.
We hosted a series of workshops there last summer, including the "Old Town Blooming Jubilee," and it was also one of the stops on a heritage walk and talk event we organised in September (stay tuned for more on that!).
The photograph below was captured during the walk and talk by our studio artist, Lauren Quayle.
Given the wealth of subjects and scenes to capture, one session doesn't do justice to All Saints, and we're considering a return visit.
About the Session
Our group is a social gathering with no designated leader, catering to individuals of all drawing skill levels. It's hosted by our resident urban sketcher, Allison John. Once the session begins, everyone follows their artistic inclinations to sketch whatever calls to them.
We were delighted to welcome participants from Liverpool Urban Sketchers as well! It's heartening to see new people discovering our group, even though we're relatively new ourselves.
The Sketches!
The urban sketching sessions offer a delightful array of materials and styles. You can click the arrow to browse through these artistic creations.
